Welcome To The Swamp Bottom Railroad!

The Swamp Bottom Railroad was hit by the Flood of July 2010 in Savanna. We rebuild our home and are now back up and running as of June 2010. We had over 75 visitors during the garden walk when we had two trains up and running. There is still a lot of work rebuilding many of the engines and cars that were under water during the flood but we are rebuilding and are back!

The Swamp Bottom Railroad...

The Swamp Bottom Railroad was established in 1996 in Savanna, Illinois by Fred and Sandy Goetz. This is a Garden Railroad which is approximately 1/2 inch scale called the G Gauge with over 1,000 feet of track on a 45 by 60 foot garden next to their home.

The Railroad is open to visitors at no charge. Please call 815-990-3388 for an appointment.
